Intermittent Connection Drops

Hello, I've been experiencing intermittent connection drops (for 5 seconds every 10 minutes or so). I have verified that this issue exists BOTH on WiFi and Ethernet, on 4 different computers and devices (i.e. Apple TVs).

About two months ago, I was experiencing the same thing and reached out to Comcast.  They said they noticed a problem on the green box outside my home and needed to repair something (didn't specify).  At the same time, they provided me a new Comcast XB7 modem (previously was an XB6).  This seemed to resolve the issue, until about a week and a half ago.  My Setup is the XB7 in Bridge Mode to a UniFi USG.  To try to troubleshoot, I have parallel ping tests.  I have run the pings to these destinations:

  • Google.com - Ping will drop packets when the connection drops
  • Facebook.com - Ping will drop packets when the connection drops
  • 10.0.0.1 (XB7 in Bridge Mode) - No packet losss when the connection drops
  • 10.1.90.1 (USG) - No packet loss when the connection drops

Therefore, I believe it is a problem with the external network on the WAN side.

I tried to call comcast and they said because of COVID they couldn't do anything since the connection isn't completely down / I have some service.  Has anyone experienced this before?  Here are my modem levels:

Re: Intermittent Connection Drops

I’m getting the same issue, were you ever able to fix it?
