Inconsistent Speed, Lost MDD Timeout errors, and Service Change Response rejected - Invalid transact

I've been troubleshooting my inconsistent internet speeds with Comcast support for the last 3 weeks.  They have not been very helpful and have told me that the issue must be with my modem/router or with the line in my house. I have a line tester and there are no shorts on my end. Comcast won't send a technician unless there is an outage in the area.

Based on what I've read on this forum, I've eliminated any splitters and connectors that are not needed. I have a signal booster connected outside directly connected to my feed from Comcast. It's a two-way splitter/booster. One outline connects directly to my Modem/router and the other connects directly to my Comcast cable box.

My Equipment: Netgear Orbi CBR40 with 2 satellites (RBS20 and RBS50). Signal booster is an Arris BDA-42-2-PR-R

My service is for 200Mbps  but I'm getting speeds all over the place. (see image) If I do a reboot the signal will improve for a short time but eventually slows down to less than 10Mbps.

Re: Inconsistent Speed, Lost MDD Timeout errors, and Service Change Response rejected - Invalid tran

Many of the downstream channels are borked. There is too much cable signal *tilt* (power level difference between the lowest and the highest frequencies), and many of the SNR's are too low / out of spec.

You should get the techs re-involved until it is fixed properly. Bear in mind that if the premises facing techs can not find or fix a problem at your home, it is they who are responsible for escalating it to their line / network / maintenance dept. techs. The problem may lie beyond your home in the local neighborhood infrastructure somewhere but it is their S.O.P. to start at the home.
Good luck !

Re: Inconsistent Speed, Lost MDD Timeout errors, and Service Change Response rejected - Invalid tran

After hours on the phone with Comcast support, they finally sent a technician out. The line feeding my house was bad...BIG Surprise!

I just want to point this out for everyone else who spends time jumping thru hoops with Comcast customer service. Don't give up! It's taken me a month of weekly calls and Comcast pointing the finger at my internal connections and my Netgear Orbi Modem/Router. They told me several times that I needed to purchase/rent an Xfinity modem for $14.99 a month to resolve the issue. Terrible, just plain terrible.

That being said, I'm now getting speeds of 200-210Mbps without the need for a signal booster!

Here are my new connection numbers. Thanks to everyone that posts here and hopefully Comcast reads these posts to improve their service SOPs.

There's still a little bit of tilt there but it is much much better ! Hope things hold up for you. Good luck !
