If you are on a home computer, you can disable IPv6 on it. Depending on the VPN service you are using, if it uses a virtual network adaptor, you may be able to disable IPv6 on just that.
Try Googling for something like: "Disable IPv6 on Windows 10" or whatever operating system you are using.

Why? The only other protocol is IPv4. Most networks will work with both.
