I can only game using a VPN connection

Can only connect to my online games (COD:MW, World of Warcraft, Planetside 2 as exmaples) when connected through a VPN program. If I do not use this VPN connection, I lose both my 2.4 and my 5 WIFI connections. The only way I can get WIFI back is by rebooting my desktop PC.  This just started a few days ago.

I have reset the router a few times

I have reset my network a few times

I have opened every port relative to these games

Deleted the network adapter and installed using scan for hardware changes option

Disabled windows firewall completely

ARRIS firewall is set to low security.

Disabled Advanced Security through the xFi applicaiton.

Interrogated my system using malware bytes.

Running network troubleshooter tells me no problems found. I show connected and can switch connections between the two WIFI options (2.4 or 5) but I am unable to even bring a webpage.

Using the xFI app, always tells me it sees a problem and needs to reboot my gateway. I found rebooting the gateway did not resolve the issue. I have to reboot the PC.

I do not know what else to do. Everything else works fine prior to trying to launch any of these games.

One different situation is I woke up this morning and my WIFI was not working again. It was working when I went to sleep 4 hours earlier. This was a first time instance. Otherwise, its always when trying to launch my games.

Re: I can only game using a VPN connection

As an update, I found that forcing the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 has helped this a bit. Not sure what this means though...I just came across it on a forum post elswhere.

Re: I can only game using a VPN connection

So twice over the last 8 days, I was told someone from the "backend" would be contacting me. No such thing has happened. Having said that, I have now hardwired this connection to the gaming rig. So what happens is when I launch the multiplayers games, the connection cuts out for a few brief moments and then will launch. So in a way, its better now. However, some games are still experiencing disconnects even when hardwired. In particular, Call of Duty Modern Warzone. I am able to launch into the game and then after about 5 minutes, or if I leave a match, I lose my connection to the server and the game closes to desktop. No idea on this. No help yet. So there are still issues over here that did not exist two weeks ago that I just can not sort out.
