How do I keep my printer alive with my new Xfinity router?

I have an HP 8600 Officejet that worked fine with the old Comcast router.  Now that we have our new Xfinity router, the printer loses it's connection after about 30 minutes and has to be unplugged and replugged in order to reconnect to the network.  The printer is not set up wirelessly, it is currently directly connected into my desktop.  I'd love to use it wirelessly if someone could tell me how to keep it alive so I don't have to turn it off every time I'm done printing.

I have an HP photosmart 5520. We have an ethernet port on our printer as well as wifi. When I tried to use the quick connect button on my router, it wouldn't work with my printer. Go to the settings on ur printer and look for a connection wizard. You might see a wrench icon. Tap on that ands scroll to wifi. Follow those instructions. It will list any networks it finds. Unfortunantely, you will need to enter the password on the touchscreen of the printer. When I tried to use the quick connect button on my router, it wouldn't work with my printer. Good Luck
