Help With WIFI ROUTER MOTOROLA SBG6580

I noticed an article about this model. I'm having same difficulty constantly losing signal. I followed the directions the person listed on here but I can't log in to the modem using the username admin and password being password. I was glad to see I may be able to get my problem solved, as I did not buy this one new, so cannot return it. Any help would be great!

If his suggestion doesn’t work maybe the previous owner set the password and neither of you factory reset it.

Thank you for the assistance. I got in to make the change and mine was already set up on the WPA2-PSK that was suggested by another member. Right now I changed it to the WPA2-PSK+WPA-PSK. Seeing if that will keep me connected. It has been a mess dealing with it cutting out. If I still have trouble I'll probably be back. Because this router is not under warranty,MOTOROLA wants a high dollar fee for their services. I appreciate the help!

@CCAndrew  Pardon me for not saying that those were the defaults like I've done a thousand times before here...

@EG
Understood, the OP had mentioned that he bought it used. I was merely suggesting if your idea didn’t work than maybe a factory reset was in order in case the password was changed from default. It’s moot as the OP figured it out..
