Hard Wired speeds throttled, WIFI is much faster.

Recently I had a tech come out and we found out the coax outlet in my bedroom was making my internet very slow when hard wired and wifi, We switched to the coax out in my living room and the speeds became great again with 750+ Mbps hard wired and then 350+ WIFI.

The next morning (today) my Hard wired speeds were throttled at 90 Mbps but WIFI was still going strong at 350+ Mbps.

I tried a restart of the gateway and also a factory reset but it's still the same.

Why would this be happening?

Possibly a bad splitter along the coax path?

The problem is it was working as expected after we switched to the other living room coax outlet like I said in the original post.

It just happened this morning I noticed the throttled speeds again but only hard-wired.

FWIW, how could a bad splitter cause two different speed between the hardwired and the WiFi. Wouldn't they both be the same ?

Might depend on where they are getting their WiFi signal from.  Yes, if from the same gateway, I would expect the same speeds.

Re: Hard Wired speeds throttled, WIFI is much faster.

Splitters on the WAN / coax side of the modem can not cause two different speeds to occur on the LAN. If one can get fast speeds on WiFi, they should be able to get equal or faster speeds on hardwired ethernet, sorry. It's something on the LAN, not the WAN.
