Gaming Unplayable
I was wondering if there is anything that can be realistically done... I have the 1gb/e service but that maxes out in the high 200's mbit. I basically can't play any online game at all. Rocket League, CoD and this is True of PC and PS4. Video services appear to work but randomly drop down to like SD quality... Despite usually only having at most 2 streams up.
Some of my Diagnostics:
I used traceroute and found the first gateway that isn't my house. When Pinging that gateway I get these Results
1000 packets transmitted, 991 packets received, 0.9% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 6.549/18.015/268.128/25.379 ms
Issues I can see:
My modem (a NETGEAR CM1000v2) is running 6.0.X code, but it looks like it is supposed to be running 1.0.x according to Netgears site. The 6.0.X appears to be for the CM1000v1 routers:
From my Modem I have a huge number of "Correctable Codewords" on the Downstream OFDM Channels. But the Uncorrectable codewords are 0 across the board.
My modem's logs are absolutely littered with errors: Such as...
SYNC Timing Synchronization failure - Failed to acquire QAM/QPSK symbol timing;CM-MAC=XXXX;CMTS-MAC=00:00:00:00:00:00;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.1;
and
No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=XXXX;CMTS-MAC=XXXX;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.1;
I sat on the phone with a tech today to kind of try and explain what is going on and they basically said it is working as it should... Wanted to know if anyone here had some insight on what to look at... because this doesn't feel right and being unable to play PSN at $100 a month on the service doesn't seem right.
