I cant seem to hook up my ethernet cable in my telephone line in the wall and need to be able to hook it up with the adapter to the telephone part in the wall to the Ethernet cable

Ethernet uses an 8-wire (4-pair) connector. Phones use 6-wire (3-pair) connectors. They are deliberately not compatible. You cannot use phone lines as Ethernet ports because the wiring is usually not the correct type.
