I currently have the TC8305C wireless gateway and it doesnt support the 300mbps that I am paying for. Plus I would like the option to have duel band internet. Is there any way i can exchange my outdated modem for something up to date? I received an email about upgrading my equipment but the email isnt loading entirely so I cant access any links
You can absolutely trade in your modem, just visit your closest Xfinity store and they'll be glad to switch it for you - be wary of the modified hours. The best capable modem we have right now is the XB6 (it can do 1G speeds), but it costs a little more to add it to your account, and I believe it requires you to have 1G service as well. You can also enable dual band (2.4GHz / 5GHz) by accessing the modem's admin page. I forget how to do it, but if you get a new one, it should come with the instructions for you to access it and enable dual band.
I know @ComcastChe offered to ship some equipment to one of our customers on a separate thread, so perhaps the same can be done for you? This way you do not have to risk going to one of the stores during this trying times. Best of luck!
Thanks for posting to the Xfinity Forums! That's a great question. @cjrobinson is correct. I'd be happy to help you out by sending an updated modem. Can you please send me a private message with your first and last name as it appears on your account? To send a private message, click on "ComcastChe" and then click "send a message."
