Download Speed Degraded / Upload is Good
Hello,
I have the xFinity Gigabit speed tier. When I ran speedtests in the past, they were always at or near 1 Gbps.
In the past few weeks, I am seeing that it never gets above 210 Mbps download. Upload speed is great at 35+ Mbps. I have tried all sorts of tests, including connecting my computer directly to my SB8200 modem. That one is almost 3 years old. Not sure if it is dying.
Signal levels look great to me:
Comcast support says all test are green and good. But something is wrong.
We even swapped out the SB8200 for an old Arris modem I have. It is a 8 x 4 channel modem, so nowhere near the 32 x 8 channel capacity, BUT it was actually consistent around 238 Mbps.
So, does this look like a bad modem? I have tried the speed tests from different computers (with WIRED connection), cell phones, etc. It starts the download test at 400+ and then dies down quickly to less than 200 Mbps.
Thanks.

Ye im having some trouble too. Im paying for 200mbps and when i noticed my download speed slowed down i ran a test and ended up only getting 30. Now when i run a speed test on xfinitys speed tester im only getting 20. I cant even run a speed test on ookla because of how bad the latency is Support says everything on their end looks good and that because of the coronavirus they are unable to send someone out to my house to fix it. Im not paying a single dime to Comcast until i get the internet speeds i agreed too.

Same here.. I'm getting 30Mbps on Download but Upload is hitting 40Mbps. Did any of you ever figure out your issues? They are sending a tech to check the lines, but I keep getting stuck on why the Download speeds are worse than the Upload speeds.
