Complained about slow download speeds via chat, and they magically went away
I wonder if this has happened to anyone else?
I am a Comcast customer who subscribes to "Extreme Pro Internet" whihc should get my up to 500MBPS download speeds.
For the past several weeks I've been running daily speed tests (using Google's speed test) and saw speeds ranging from 40MBPS to 60MBPS.
I finally contacted Comcast via chat, which went nowhere past stating my complaint and identifying myself.
Or so I thought.
Moments after closing the chat, I ran another speed test and got 311MBPS down. Which is somewhat in line with the service I pay for. I say somewhat because I have a modern supported Docsys 3.1 modem and whould be getting close to the full 500.
This is too much of a coincidence... Is this a hidden SOP that throttles connections until a customer complains?
