Compatibility of Technicolor CGM4331 with Avast Omni

I recently purchased an Avast Omni Hub for Avast security programs. Whenever I plug in the LAN ethernet line from my Omni Hub to the Technicolor modem, I lose my internet conncection. Any suggestions on why this is occurring?
