Cannot connect to xfinitywifi or XFINITY. Both regular service and WiFi On Demand service not workin

This has been affecting me for over three weeks now.

Cannot connect to xfinitywifi or XFINITY protected network from macOS Catalina 10.15, iOS 13.1.3, or Windows 10.

Issue is essentially "Obtaining IP address..." or "Self-assigned IP address". Renewing the DHCP lease does not work.

I can occasionally still connect from Android 8.1 Nexus 5X device to xfinitywifi and extremely sporadically from my iPad on iPadOS 13.1.3.

XFINITY protected never works on any device.

I have tried re-installing the Wi-Fi profile many times. I have tried resetting network settings, caches, keychains, deleting config files, various rebooting procedures.

When I go wardriving and get directly under the hotspots based on their signal levels and based on the Xfinity Hotspots app, I notice extremely high ping, sometimes as high as 1-5 seconds per request.

I had to cancel my Wi-Fi pass that was on auto-renew. I have tried connecting with standard Xfinity account, and it does not work either.

Can someone help? This is affecting a lot of people with no info it seems. Not sure if it is isolated to my area, which I would be glad to share via PM to a moderator.

Also, it's not called Mac OS X anymore, Xfinity. It's called macOS. Your help pages are showing their age.

Just a bit of advice, you're more likely to get help if you

  • stay within topic and drop any unnecessary comments.
  • not bump your thread up

as they are against forum rules.

FWIW, this is mainly a peer to peer type of help forum here. This is not real time customer service. If you want that you can try calling 1-800-comcast or try their live chat service.
