Can't see my 2.4 Ghz network
I have my 2.4 and 5 Ghz networks separate because not all my devices can see the 5 Ghz, and the signal drops off too fast with distance and obstructions. I don't care if it's "not recommended". It's how I want/need it.
Problem is, the devices I have that WON'T DO 5 Ghz don't see the 2.4 Ghz at all. As far as I can tell it is supposed to be broadcasting the name. But I can't see it. I can't even connect to it if I manually input the SSID and pasword.
I seriously HATE companies that decide what I can and can't do on my system.

I have the same problem with my XFinity Gateway. I've set it up to "not merge" the 2.4 and 5.0 GHz bands, but my older 2.4 GHz (and some brand new devices that only operate on 2.4) cannot see the 2.4 GHz SSID to connect. Even if I type it in manually they just can't see it. Seems to be a very broken customer experience.
