Can't get my router to work with Netgear CM1000

Hello,

My modem is a Netgear CM1000-1AZNAS and my router is the Asus AC2400 (more specifically, the RT-AC87U). I am able to connect via ethernet cable directly from modem to laptop but am unable to get the router working with the combination of Xfinity and my modem.  Any suggestion?

Thanks

You need to power cycle the modem each and every time that you change the device that is being directly connected to it. Unplug it for 30 seconds.
