Battery charge time on modem

Gateway: Arris TG1682G, battery BPB044S/790512

I bought a battery for it online. Excerpt from battery status after I first checked it:

• Actual Capacity: 200 mAh
• Remaining Charge: 8 mAh (4%)
• Number of Cycles to date: 634728

8 hours later:

• Remaining Charge: 38 mAh (19% )

At the rate it is charging it will take over a day to charge 100%. Is that normal?

Another thing that bothered me is the Number of Cycles to date. How can the battery show so many cycles when it is supposed to be new?
