Arris TG1682g battery light keeps flashing

why does my Arris battery light keep flashing and the line 2 phone line light keeps flashing

I do not have a battery 

I only have one phone line

This seems to keep my phone from working

Check the bottom chamber of the gateway for any installed batteries and remove them.  If there are no batteries installed, press the hidden, recessed Reset button on the back of the gateway for about 15 seconds, and let the device reboot. If it persists, swap it out for a new one at your local Xfinity store.
