Aries SBG6700-ac - require reboot every day

Hi,

I have been on Xfinity for last 3 months. I bought my own router/modem, Aries SBG6700-ac. Recently I notice that every morning internet is down and I need to reset the modem to bring back the internet. I feel this is a software issue in the modem. The software was never updated in last three months. It is still running the same software the day I bought it. Today a technician came to look at it but he cannot upgrade the software on it. Here the information about software version from the modem (Aries SBG6700-ac)

Software Version D30GW-EAGLE-1.5.3.0-GA-00-NOSH

If someone here please let me know how the software can be updated on this device, it realy appericiate it.

Thanks,

SK

Is this with a WiFi connection ? If so, for a test, does a computer hardwired directly to the 6700 with an ethernet cable have the same problem ?

I am using external WIFi router and not using the internal WIFi from the Aries SBG6700. When I was having the proble, I even tried enabling the WIFi on the Aries router/modem and it did not work. Only way to make it work is to reboot the Aries SBG6700 router/modem. I did not try the wired connection from the laptop directly (my MacBook does not have wired port so need to find a windows laptop).

As the problem recovers after rebooting the modem so I think issue is with its software. Can xfinity please update the software on it.

What do the modem's signal stats look like ? Try getting them here; http://192.168.0.1 The username is admin and the password is password. Go to Status >>>> Connection.

Please post the *Downstream Power Level*, the *Upstream Power Level*, and the *SNR* (Signal to Noise Ratio) numbers.
