I recently purchased an ARRIS SB8200 modem and ASUS AC3000 WiFi system because our previous gateway was providing poor performance. I connect to my work computer via ethernet cable, but my wife has to use the WiFi to connect to her laptop/remote desktop. We've been having connection issues and, having talked with ARRIS support, realized the issue is that we need a second IP address / to setup the Link Aggregation.
When I look at the services PDF for my area, I don't see the option to add an additional IP address. Is there a way to get an additional IP address even if it's not listed on there? The issue is making it difficult (nearly impossible) for my wife and I to both work from home.
First. Link aggregation won't help a performance / connection / RF signal quality issue. It is for increasing overall bandwidth / throughput.
Second. You don't need a second public / WAN IP address assigned from an ISP for link aggregation to be able to function.
