Xfi Pods ethernet backhaul
I've seen this asked ever since the pods came out but no one will give an answer. The closest thing I've seen to an answer was "it's on the roadmap", that's great but when will ethernet backhaul actually be implemented? I'm trying to switch from my Google WiFi which I have ethernet backhaul because the points are too far apart for good signal, can't switch until this is implemented, what's the hold up?

No, and the Pods are not designed for it. The ethernet port on the pods are to connect an non-wireless, ethernet client device to it.
If you're wishing to run a Wireless Access Point via an ethernet backhaul to the gateway, you'll have to use a third party device.

It's possible a hardware redesign is coming, but to be honest, I don't know. I'm not an employee and I have no particular insight into the workings of Comcast's engineering team.

I know you have heard this before, but yes, it is on a roadmap but we haven't announced a time for this feature to be available for the xFi pods.

There was a Comcast employee, @ComcastRachelH, who posed in October *2018* that Ethernet backhaul for xFi Pods was on the roadmap.
It doesn’t instill consumer confidence to say “we’re going to do this, but it may take 5 years.”
Please tell us if it’s going to ship in the next quarter or don’t say anything at all.

Do you have an update? It is almost April of 2020. When will the pods be able to connect to xfi modem through ethernet for rooms in a home not extending speed through mesh?

With everyone being stuck at home, being able to use ethernet backhaul would be most helpful. Plume supports ethernet backhaul, I can't understand why it has taken years for Comcast to enable this feature on the same Plume hardware. Comcast providing an ETA of when the feature might be available or even stating it won't be supported at all would be most helpful, and the right thing to do.

enough of this crazieness with xfinity....put your xfinity gateway in bridge mode and buy a real wifi mesh (ex. Google Wifi you already have). Comcast should stick to providing the connectivity and stay out of the home networking hardware business.
