Xfi Pods and Ethernet

I just installed the Xfinity XG1 v4.A Xfi DVR and 3 Xi6 WiFi devices. I have a Cat7/Cat6 network and had my own Arris Surfboard router/modem before switching. Just installed 3 Xfi Pods. They have an Ethernet port in them. What's it for? So do the Xi6 boxes but I'm told they are disabled at this point? Seems to be the case, however, do the Pods offer ethernet connection to a current WiFi connected PC? Does it make the Pod "wired" if I connect and active Cat6 cable? Is the Ethernet port on the Pod disabled as well?

jhwelbourn -- Thanks for reaching out.  The ethernet port on the xFi Pod is not disabled.  Once your Pods are activated, if you are still experiencing connectivity issues that are limiting your ability to perform specific functions (i.e., streaming video), you may benefit from connecting your device via Ethernet to a Pod.

At this time, Pods do not support ethernet backhaul.

Please note, the Pods connect wirelessly to the Gateway.  Do not connect your Pods directly to your compatible xFi Gateway using the Ethernet port on the bottom of the Pod.

My Pods are connected to the router fine, but I cannot connect to the internet via the Ethernet port on the Pod. Are these disabled? I’ve unplugged the pods, restarted the gateway, nothing is working

On a related question: why can we not connect the ethernet port on the Pod to the router?  It would make it easier to extend wireless to my disconnected garage if I could connect the pod to my ethernet line which runs to my patch panel which goes to my router.  If this will not work, what solution do you suggest to extend the wireless to a disconnected building where it is impossible to chain the Pods wirelessly?

Any update on this? I have similar configuration. I was told by Comcast that this is exactly what you can do but the pods are constantly disconnecting
