Xfi App not assigning/naming devices

I recently downloaded Xfi App. Created profiles, named and assigned devices. Always says "device assigned" etc. like it did what I told it to. Then nothing is done.  Tried every which way to assign device to profile. Plus uninstalled, reinstalled, reset, even shutdown my phone. Then got on xfinity site to see if things would work there, no luck. Now Im here...what am I doing wrong??

Please let me know after you  have tried everything on here if you are able to name/assign the device with the xFi app.

I was also having the same issues assigning devices. I have been using the app for months now and previously had no issue assigning devices. With the latest changes to the app, it seems there is a problem assigning devices to the default Houeshold profile. Somehow all of my devices got unassigned from the Household profile and it would not let me reassign most of my devices back to the Household. It would not let me add the device ... no matter how many times I tried assigning it, it would go back to the device page and says it's unaasigned. Assigning the device to any other profile works, except the Household profile.

 

What worked for me was to create a new profile for the Household. It's wierd because for mostdevices that were already part of the Household (and now unexpectantly got removed) ... I can't reassign it to Household but I can assign it to another profile. But a couple of devices I had no issue adding them to the default Household profile. I have like 8 devices right now that I can't assign to the Household profile so I'm just going to create another profile and add them there.

I have tried all of these things. I have reinstalled the app and deleted and recreated profiles. Nothing works. I just Recently made the decision to stick with the gateway modem, etc, specifically because of this service so it is very frustrating that it doesn’t work.

I am having the same issue, have had it for months. Cannot assign many devices to the Household. Tried calling Comcast but the person didn’t seem to understand at all. Very frustrating!!

I kept deleting the profiles that wouldn't work and recreating and eventually got all my devices assigned. There certainly seems to be a bug in device assignment. You might try skipping the assign step when creating the profile and do it after the profile is created
