Xbox parental controls not working

Xbox connects to WiFi with new name each time (like Xbox-159, Xbox-20) so parental controls not working. I have to constantly assign new Xbox to person that has restrictions.

Hello. I am sorry that you are experiencing difficulties when using the xFi App. Please try to log in by visiting http://xfinity.com/myxFi and set the parental controls from there.

If you still are not able to log in, please let us know and we can look into other options for resolution.

Re: Xbox parental controls not working

I can log in just fine on the app. My problem is.....when the device Xbox connects to my home WiFi it creates a new name each time (like Xbox-129, Xbox-52, Xbox-99) so I cannot manage the device. How do I get a device to not create a new name each time it connects?

Re: Xbox parental controls not working

I have the same problem. The Xbox appears each night with a slightly different name, but this happens shortly after downtime begins. How can I keep my son from re-naming his xbox and bypassing the downtime I set? Obviously, I can take away his xbox, but I would prefer the parental controls to work.

Re: Xbox parental controls not working

Can you actually answer this question? The Xbox seems to be switching MAC addresses and device names, so we can’t actually shut the Xbox down without constantly checking if the name has changed. Frustrating, to say the least.
