Unknown device connecting to network

I received a notification this morning that another device connected to our network. We have no idea what or who this could be. Everyone has to have a password that connects at our house and as soon as they do we name them so we know who they are. How did this happen and how could I possibly make it stop? There's no way in the world they could have figured this password out.
