Own Modem

I have nothing but problems with the xFI gateway.  I'd like to use my own modem, I am well aware i still need to pay the $15 and lose most of the benefits like advanced security.  Not worried about that all I REALLY wanted was the unlimited internet anyway.  Can I keep that if I switch to my own modem?

If you'll notice, the OP's concern is with unlimited Internet service:

IOW, can the OP keep their bundled Unlimited service (perhaps a plan like the one described in https://stopthecap.com/2019/03/04/comcast-brings-back-free-unlimited-data-if-you-rent-their-15-hardware/ ) if they switch from a Comcast gateway to a device they own, as long as they continue to pay its monthly fee? Perhaps by just sitting the Comcast device in a closet?

I have the same question. I want to use my own router cause the xb6 WiFi is bad. If I will put the xb6 in brigade mode is gonna remain the unlimited plan?

But is that the $50 add-on Unlimited plan, or is it "xFi Advantage" bundled with unlimited data for an extra $15 plan described in https://www.xfinity.com/learn/internet-service/wifi under the "WiFi with an advantage" heading, and in the StopTheCap link posted above? It might matter.
