Cannot use xFi app

I have the latest modem (the white one) which I installed last week. I  downloaded the xFi app and received the message "You need to upgrade your equipment... ". I called xFinity and a tech came out yesterday, installed a new box outside (on my house) and ran new wiring to the outlet.

 

I still cannot use the app.  Sometimes I  get a new message the says I  cannot access unauthorized sections of 'my account'.

 

Please help. I purchased the pods and cannot activate them until I  can use the xFi app to do so.
