Thank you for your response. I must say, having worked in engineering for 40 years in areas that touch on IT I am simply amazed that Comcast would ship the CGM4140COM without ANY reasonable documentation. If there are any Comcast Tech Support representatives monitoring this forum I would kindly ask them to forward this to their tip tier support management to resolve this issue. The "Getting Started Guide" is totally inaquate.
For those of us that do not need the Routing or WiFi functionality of the XFi Gatway it would be nelpful to know how to access the Bridge Mode Enable..It would be helpful to know the IP address...How to make a factory reset...none of which is mentioned in the "Getting Started Guide" The WEP functionality....what the flashing Led's mean...Just the basicss...

Unless you are using phone service which I beleive requires the rental of a modem.
In my case, a manual would be useful as I am trying to trouble shoot the implementation of xFi pods.
It seems though that the Comcast modifications to the Plume technology are not even well documented within the Comcast organization.

You reset it back to factory defaults by depressing and holding in the recessed reset button on the rear for 30 seconds.

Our new CGM4140COM has an annoying whining hum. Driving me nuts. Any solution?
