XfinityStream channel access
On my home computer I cannot access many channels especially PBS and CBS. The message I get is that I need to be on my home wifi. My computer is attached to the cable modem though a router by ethernet cables. The cable modem is my own Comcast approved, which is attached to the same cable and account that my set top box from Comcast is connected.

Xfinity tech support hasn't been able to fix it. What works now is if I connect the ethernet cable from my computer directly to the cable modem, I can access all channels. Through my router, only some channels work. The rest give the message, "Connect to in-home WiFi to watch. Why?" The "Why" links to the statement, "Why In-Home? Due to licensing agreements, some content can only be viewed on your in-home WiFi." The problem is that the LAN side of my router is my home network, but for some reason Xfinity's system doesn't think it is. Everything worked a couple months ago. I don't know if the problem is the result of installing a new cable/voice modem or from a bug in some new Xfinity software that can't properly recognize my home network. I don't like being charged daily for a service that doesn't work.

In answer to your question, I am using the proper username and password to login to XfinityStream. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to access any channels.

Xfinity tech support has fixed the issue. I can now see all TV channels at home with XfinityStream. I don't know what their fix was, but it was all done on their end.

I have talked to an agent for almost an hour on todays date 11/29/2019 and he assured me that the issues of all of my channels not being available and were somehow taken off or not streaming on my xfinity internet and streaming that i have and have had for some time now. I do not know what happened to all of my channels but they all disapeared and i was left with only 5 channels on live tv stream and no other channels for streaming and i was told by the 24 hour chat line rep within the last 24 hours that this problem has been fixed and I need to wait a considerable amount of time and the channels will be reinstated on my Desktop PC as i do not have tv or cable or ethernet nor do i or have i ever had cable modem or service for any tv etc. just the computer ok? The chatline rep promised to have it all instated all channel access plus one month free of streaming and dvr plus cloud recording and playback through cloud and would be instated in 60 minutes and that was approximatley 5am this morning after a very exausting and lengthy chat with the rep located in Mexico City refer to the chat conversation on fil and my account also i forwarded copies of all conversation with said agent to customer service at Comcast re xfinity internet/ stream problems. When i checked as i have around 7 times today there still has been no updated or repaired error or streaming situation has not been fixed and new chat rep said on chatline through xfinity browser that there shows no order and no changes have been made to my account even though i provided the confirmation number and the account number for me on file and in my copies sent to customer service. Please fix this problem once and for all and I expect all of my channels back on stream and to have my internet service still continued it seems to still be fine and also I believe that what the original rep on chatline told me and is recorded and copied should also be instated meaning the free one month etc he promised would be on my device in 60 minutes per our conversation. e-mail me at this address as soon as this situation has been fixed and that i am going to be assured my satisfaction once and for all with Comcast and my xfinity stream internet with my modem used internet & voice for streaming capabilities as well thank you for your prompt and undivided attention to this matter and i use this scarcely at this time greatly appreciated. Wow! I have tried everything i know of e-mailed comcast xfinity customer service, forwarded online chat full conversation with comcast xfinity help chatline & requested this be fixed and a few other efforts to get this problem and my unauthorised changes that were made to my account and nothing has gotten any results or responses or any attempt to contact me to solve this problem. What did you do to get them to fix the problem of not getting all of your channels on xfinity stream please help!

I did not call Comcast yet as it is a holiday weekend but intend to on Monday and I will try to resolve this problem of not having all of my channels on my xfinity stream/ internet service, hopefully they can assure the same results that you got and tech. support will fix my issue as well! Thank you for your response it was helpful!

have you tried using a smart phone/tablet witht he xfinity Stream TV app? does it work normally?
