Watching previous shows

We just changed from Hotwire to Xfinity.  With Hotwire we could go back to previous times with the guide and watch the last show on the guide or even shows from earlier in the day or the day before.  Apparently all shows were stored in the cloud for at least a day.  In contrast, with Xfinity we can't go back earlier than when we turned on the channel, and the only way we can find to see the previous show is with on demand, which is a lot more cumbersome.  Is there something I'm missing?  Is there a setting that accesses the cloud?  Thanks
