MacOS Catalina/Safari Upgrade no streaming in Safari
I seem to remember having this issue before and I think it is related to Safari/browser versions being restricted by Xfinity but after upgrading my Mac this afternoon, I can no longer access live video streams via Xfinity in Safari Version 13.0 (15608.1.24.40.4). I can view them in Chrome (which is a released version).
There is no error message just a black screen once I click on a listing in the guide.
Can anyone confirm that beta versions of browsers aren't supported for Xfinity streaming?

did you check to see if a new flash version is available for your PC (load while using safari). did you click on the 'lock' to left of url and 'allow' flash (each time)?

Thank you for replying. I did check. I'm running Flash version 32.0.0.207. Works on Chrome.

It's a little more complicated to allow Flash on a Mac especially in Safari. This is done in the Safari Preferences and multiple settings must be enabled in order for streaming to work.
Safari>Preferences>Websites
AutoPlay > Allow All Auto-Play for Xfinity.com
Content Blockers > Off for Xfinity.com
Adobe Flash Player (32.0.0.192) >On for Xfinity.com
These are all set correctly.
I have another Mac running High Sierra and it is not a problem. Xfinity Streaming is fine.
I believe this is a versioning issue where Comcast blocks streaming to browsers that it does not support/approve. In this case, browsers in development/beta. Catalina is still only in Beta 2.

I confirmed all the settings. Same issue.
I suspect you are correct. Comcast must be blocking Safari. It used to work. I guess I'm stuck with Chrome on Catalina for now. Unless I can come up with a solution.
Thank you for your help!!

Hello,
I am having the same problem--have gone through all of the steps to make sure Adobe Flash is on. Just get the black "loading" screen when I click on a channel to stream it through Xfinity.
Thanks

Hi All,
I got a report from a forum user that they are now able to use the Stream portal via Catalina. Can anyone else confirm?

Still no luck. I'm using Chrome. Gave up on Safari and working with Comcast on it.

FWIW what is the plan going forward? Flash as a platform is dead. In July 2017, Adobe announced that it would declare Flash to be end-of-life at the end of 2020, and will cease support, distribution, and security updates for Flash Player.
Any official anouncement from the Xfinity team?
