Voicemail problem on factory unlocked Note 10+

I recently purchased a Samsung factory unlocked (U1) Note 10+ to replace my XM S10+.  It's working just fine with the original SIM that I swapped over from my XM S10+.  VoLTE, WiFi calling, everything works.  Except....  Voicemail notifications.  None.  Zip, zero, nada.

The XM visual voicemail app does not work (nor on any XM purchased Note 10)

"the newest Samsung phones (Note10 included) are not compatible with the Xfinity Visual Voicemail app and moving forward, all new phones will be using the provided voicemail app (not the xfinity visual voicemail app) in which case on the note10 is audio only".

With the Samsung default voicemail app, I don't receive any notification that I have a voicemail message.  And if I open the app, it always says "no new voicemails".  But if I touch the "check voicemail" button in the app, my new voicemail messages are there and I can listen to them.  I've enabled all permissions for the app, and enabled all relevant notification settings.

I suspect that the problem is not related to app notification issues, but rather related to the app accessing/checking my voicemail.  Since it always says "you have no new messages", whether there are messages or not.

All feedback/suggestions welcome.

This is exactly what I did. I tried everything to get the Note 10 voicemail that comes on the phone to work. I purchased my Note 10 directly from Xfinity as well. I just kept looking for apps until I found Youmail and bingo! I still cannot believe though that between Samsung and Xfinity they cannot fix this issue without the customer having to go and download an outside app for voicemail. Boggles my mind!

FWIW: the native Samsung voicemail app now works on my Note 10+.  Apparently there has recently been a change/update to the app, and it's now working.  for me....

I installed the 'new' app too, it does not work on my Samsung Galaxy s10.   It appears that the xfinity mobile app is over riding my native Samsung app as well.  So this means I have no way to know if I have a voicemail, other than call it.  Screenshot_20200318-140625_Settings.jpg

YUp, They actually told me to download you mail. THats ok if you get 10 VM a mo. as I will not pay for VM on a 1000. phone when it worked beautifully  before. NOT smart, xfinity.

The xfinity visual VM is no longer compatible in 2019 phones. I was not happy at all when i UPGRADED from my 2018 s9+ and NO visual VM. Yes, i verified it  BUT the reps etc. are NOT aware . JUst last week I actually got a call from xfinity to help me with the issue.  I laughed. They said oh we fixed it and are reaching out to people who complained. So I let them do their little  updtae  which of course failed.  OOPs, dont know why they said. We will have to get back to you. I am getting the new a71 5 g uw MOnday- ANd it best have visual VM!!
