Reward for buying a new phone from Xfinity

I purchased a 2020 iPhone SE from Xfinity last July as part of switching my cell phone service to Xfinity. I never received either a gift card or account credit. I called the Reward Center only to be told that I did not qualify for the promotional gift because I paid for my phone outright. I was told in the Xfinity Showroom that I would get the gift card. I even had a copy of the promotional email that I showed to the salesperson. So was I lied to - to my face? As if this wasn't bad enough, the rep from the Reward Center I sort of spoke to today put me on interminable hold (thundering piano arpeggios in your choice of hold music) before I was transferred to a nice lady in India (?) who could not hear me. I am a Triple Play customer in addition to being a cell phone customer. This is no way to treat a customer. Please get back to me with a resolution. Thank you.

Join the club. I just found out that I have the same issue with Xfinity Mobile.  I have bought phones and moved lines before with Xfinity as part of a rebate deal. Always paid up front and got the rebate as a gift card.  This time I bought a phone in Oct 2020 and moved a line. I have been waiting for the gift card and finally called today.  Apparently I got caught in the same trap as you.  I don't have a copy of the original agreement to verify what they told me but I see the language in the current promotions does say that upfront payments make one ineligible for the rebate. Seems like a stupid policy to me. Because they get their money up front, I don't get a rebate. Pay over 24 months and I get a rebate.  Even if they wanted to make sure that I kept my phone service with them for two years they could at least pay me the rebate monthly over the next 24 months. i guess the moral is to read the fine print and not assume that the previous agreement you received still holds. Not happy at all. I fel as though I got cheated by Xfinity.

Apparently you did not meet the terms of the promotion. Xfinity employees cannot grant you anything other than the terms of the promotions, no matter how long you talk to them, nor what you would like to hear from them or what you think you hear from them.

The only thing that Xfinity employees can do is to search for other current promotions or other plans, whether it is for cable, internet, phone, or mobile.

I believe this was the offer in effect for activating a new line and transferring a number when you bought your phone. It had to be purchased on a 24 month payment plan.

The $200.00 prepaid card offer was for existing customers only.
