Problem activating cellular Apple Watch 5

Just bought an Apple Watch 5 with GPS + cellular. I followed all the proper steps to set up cellular. I can’t get past the “gathering your information” step. It just keeps saying an error has occurred!

Can someone help?

I had the exact same problem - once the technician removed my iwatch account (canceled it) I was able to enable it during the pairing process (set up Cellular).

Read the above blog, and it saves tons of time.
