My Samsung A70 phone is not making call outgoing or able to pick-up/answer some calls.

When dialing a number the phone is dead on the first call. I am always having to call a number two times before the ringing starts and connects. Also, I am not able to answer a call sometimes, it won't answer calls.

This is happening to me and my wife.  We have Samsung A70 phones.  Neither one of us uses WiFi calling, and the same issue happens in many locations even with good signal strength.  We cannot call each other, or call out to other people. It is getting very frustrating.  The phone worked fine when I first got it, but now it is dropping incoming and outgoing calls all of the time.

DId you get an answer? I also have an A70 and suddenly it is not making calls and drops calls occasionally,too

This started to happen on my Samsung A70 as well in the past 4-5 days, I t got so bad I took it to an Xfinity strore while I was on the road and they told me it was a probem in Colorado and I was now in Indiana.  They suggested I reset my network, and of course that did not help.  I am now stuck on the road with no reliable communications and the stores are no help.  This does not seem to phase anyone at Xfinity, <Edited>.

This happened to my phone Samsung A70 as well and all I could do was to start making internet calls.  Obviously, this doesn't work all the time, but since I changed the settings my network calls are going through as well. What I wansn't prepared for when I left Verizon and changed to Xfinity Mobile was how much customer support I would be giving up! I'm more than tired of the stuping Assistant that never helps and never allows you to chat with a real human being. The only help we can get is going into a store which is several miles from our home. Rethinking this whole decision!!!

My wife a70 and my a70 started dropping calls i took them to xfinity they said they wont help us so i took the phones to samsung..samsung said there is nothing wrong with phones..so xfinity made us buy new phones and we still have to pay for the other ones does any one know what we can do

Mine also stopped as well at the same date as other complaints.  Going to go to Xfinity store and swap out for iphone 11 that my wife is using successfully.  Something happened to their network in mid August that provides heck to A70 customers.

Update.  Samsung made a change to xfinity network on 8/15 that likely messed up all A70 phones.  Samsung isn't patching the network software so Samsung's fix is to replace all A70's with A71.  Xfinity hosed around w/ me so much on this I am going back to Verizon.

I just went into a branch today with this same problem.  They told me that the A70 is no longer supported by the Xfinity network - no warning, no email notification, nothing.  The rep pulled another phone out while he was telling me this, so I was expecting to get a replacement on the spot.  He pulls a phone number from that phone, writes it down and tells me I have to call them to get a replacement phone.  I said, how am I supposed to call this number when my phone doesn't work. He said sorry I can't help you - we can't do exchanges right now, the fastest way to get a new phone is by calling the number.  Zero concessions and loads of apathy for my situation.  So I go home, and I'm now on hour 3.5 of being on hold with this mobile support number, of which I called through my amazon echo. Still zero resolution.  Looking like I will cancel and join with someone else.

Have you tried using Wi-Fi Calling? In the dialer select the 3 dots in the upper right-hand corner and select Settings. You will find an option for Wi-Fi calling there.

Last updated 8/31/20

 

We are still investigating the root cause of this issue. However, we have discovered that toggling Airplane mode ON for a few seconds then OFF again will provide some temporary relief. 

 

Our priority is still to find a more permanent solution, which we are working on with our teams and business partners.

I am also having this issue and spent hours waiting and working xfinity reps. How do I direct message you to get this issue resolved?

Sorry for the inconvenience. Would you be willing to work with a Samsung engineer to troubleshoot this issue? If so, please send me a direct message and I will provide the contact information. Also, as a temporary solution, have you tried using WiFi Calling? WiFi Calling can be turned on by going to the Dialer, select the three dots in the upper right-hand corner, then select Settings. You will see an option to turn on WiFi Calling.

My cell phone is doing the same thing Samsung a70 I was told by Comcast Samsung did an update that messed up only this phone I have a seciuss heart condition and this is getting rediculous. 😠

Yes I need something done I've been going round and round with Comcast, said they are sending me a replacement but no confirmation I'm a heart patient had to leave here by ambulance several times now I don't even have a way to call. I was on the phone with Comcast 3 hours yesterday there's no proof or nothing of the call I'm ready to cancel all my services!!!!

My wife and I have an a70 each. 2 weeks as new Xfinity mobile customers. Happy to help trouble shoot if it leads to resolution or new phones. Massive issue not being able to make phone calls

My husband's Samsung A70 started doing the same thing. I called and talked to an agent 2 nights ago and was on the phone with him for over an hour. He had me do all the troubleshooting steps he told me they had to do to confirm it wasn't working. After that he told me it was a known issue that would be covered under the warranty and that it needed to be replaced with an A71. He said he made thorough notes in the call log and then tried to get me through to someone else that dealt with the warranty. He wasn't successful but would call back the next day (yesterday). That didn't happen, of course. My husband drives for a living and needs a phone ASAP. Why is this such a hard thing to get resolved??? I really don't want to go through all the steps again. IT DOESN'T WORK - REPLACE IT!

Still waiting for a resolution. Text messages are now failing. Can't get ahold of customer support. Such a disappointment.

A new software update is available that resolves this issue. If you don't receive the update automatically, you can download and install the update by going to Settings/Software update/Download and install. The new Software version: A705USQU1BTH1.

A new software update is available that resolves this issue. If you don't receive the update automatically, you can download and install the update by going to Settings/Software update/Download and install. The new Software version: A705USQU1BTH1.

So now what no replacements? After all us consumers went threw? The messed up part is my wife and I go 2 a71 phone sent for replacements for the a70 away have. My wife recived a a71 but me on the other hand I recived an a51 . Here's where it gets worse. My Xfinity mobile account under devices has the 2 a71 phones listed no a51. But the imei listed as the imei for my a71 is actually the imei for the a51. There was a major critical error in the Xfinity mobile system. I have yet to get that sorted out and if I cant by Monday I'm ditching Xfinity mobile.

They told me that phone is no longer supported on their network. A nieghbor said Xfinity replaced the phone for free because of this.

Hello, the A70 phone is still supported, but not available for sale any longer. It has been replaced with the Galaxy A71. If you are having issues making or receiving calls on the A70 just download the new software update and that should resolve the problem

This is getting rediculous!!!!!!   I was sent a samsung a51 and I can't hear calls on it very well and they said it was just a mistake so now they are going to send me the a71. Now I'm hearing they are out of the a71s WTH! You see they are not sending out new a71 they are recontioned phones ,that's not really right it wasn't our fault these phones messed up.  Comcast needs to make this right NOW we trusted you and moved to your cell service.... MAKE THIS RIGHT !!!!!

No they sent me the wrong phone and it's a reconditioned phone. WTH is wrong with Comcast??? I'm so done with them.

Im running out of patictes ,hours on the phone with Comcast then send me the wrong phone a51 a lower level and still charging me for the higher level a71. Said they are going to be sending me a a71 but it's not going to be a new phone reconditioned phone 😡. I didn't sign up for this Comcast you need to make this right!  No I'm not going to set on the phone anymore for hours and get told something different by each comcast rep.

They sent me an A71 now they are charging me for that and still paying on the defective A70 customer service is a nightmare!!

You are wrong or this is an old post. Read on Samsung's website the update isn't working and they are going to stop any further updates or making the a70.

They activated the a51 with out my permission. They refused to make this right they think 50$ credit on my accout makes this any better. I was told by the assistant manager in olyimpia wa store that I'm either going to have to deal with the a51 or the a70. When I call they all say they are escalating this and I will hear back from them.... never heard back from them. And also they say they leave notes on my account but then other reps say no notes were left . The assistant manager said the fella from Teir 3 said that the phone was in fact a a51 5g... I have confirmed that was a lie it's just a regular a51. It's wack because I bought a case from china for the a71 uw. and the assistant manager said tuat it was also never a guarantee that we were to receive the a71 it was up to the warranty company. Even tho the email I received said your a71 is on it's way. The email didn't say hey you might recive an a71 who knows..... this is a mess.... I'm upset and it seems like they dont wanna fix this.

I'm still trying to work with them ,I was promised they would trade out the a51 but just found out that I have to wait 30 day and they don't have any more a71 phones. They tried to talk me into just keeping this a51 .

They are refusing to replace it with the correct phone I'm taking them to small claims because they refuse to give me the correct phone and are making my pay more for a phone what's cheaper and lesser than the a70. Making me pay a70 price for an a51. Plus the assistant manager at my locat store assured me it was a new a51 5g I found out that was a lie.

Same problems with the A70 my wife and I both have them. we had to make a 16 hour drive 2 ways in 6 days and our phones wouldnt work right sitting in downtown atlanta and nashville no service in the middle of a pandmic.  no service even in clear sight of a cell tower. told 2 times from 2 different people they were replacing them with A71... no phones and no record of replacements, so many hours on hold i lost count. last told they did an update to fix them. drove an hour north again lost coverage in plain sight of a cell tower. spotty calls with phasing out. this has been a mess. currently on hold again after talking to a tier 2 person who said they will resolve my problem... lol i hated my high payment but think im done. today they wanted me to factory reset my phone and if it works he said it will be fine. ha ha yup i believe them they are trustworthy right... lol they arent going to replace the phone they are doing everything they can to avoid it. Im done gotta find a way out of this phone.
