MMS [picture messages] without using data

I can't receive a picture thru a text message unless I use data. This is sad because had I known this I would've stayed with my other carrier. If this doesn't get resolved I will switch carriers. I contacted the manufactuer of the phone and 3 different customer service represenitives all said it's on phone carriers settings that force you to use data!!!!!

UNSATISFIED WITH XFINITY MOBILE not helping to resolve this issue.

Re: MMS [picture messages] without using data

I've had Xfinity Mobile for a year and this just started late last year November or December of 2019.  If you Google this problem, it's not exclusive to Xfinity but I would love to hear from a moderator here on this.  My wife and I have Galaxy 10 & 10S and are having your problem too.

Re: MMS [picture messages] without using data

I have determined this is only on Xfinity operated Wifi.  My home wifi and both open and secure Xfinity hotspots do not send MMS over text (tried all texting apps....textra, verizon, samsung, etc).  It hangs on, "Sending".  I had this issue a while back and Verizon's messaging app resolved this.  The only time it will send is if I am on a non-Xfinity wifi or using data (that split second between changing wifis etc).

This is annoying and definitely a setting or throttle on Comcast's side.

Re: MMS [picture messages] without using data

Same issue on two A50's. So ComCast throttles your pics on Xfinity wifi to keep the free data down on their end? I'd like a mod to comment on this.
There is also a problem with xfinity wifi setting app dropping wifi amd you never know it. 2 months in a row it caught us and sent data soaring. Yet they give "one complimentary" credit. We will see what happens this month.

Re: MMS [picture messages] without using data

I switched to "mood" messenger. Sends pictures fine from Comcast internet, no switch to days necessary.
