How/when exactly do I have to set up auto pay and WHY do I have to auto pay?
I mean I have both auto and home insurance through the same insurance provider and they bill me the same. Yet with Xfinity Mobile I cannot simply have the next month's service billed with the TV and internet service I have with them. WHY?
Moreover, do I need to download/install apps on the phone I'm paying for with this service or where do I set up auto pay if I absolutely MUST as I have not downloaded anything on the phone since I first turned it on. I haven't even connected it to Wifi or used the cell based internet (4g whatever the heck) as I don't want to be kicked to the higher tier of service ($45 a month vs $35) for going over the measly 1 GB of data a month cap.
So do I absolutely HAVE to set up Xfinity apps on this phone? Or can I set up the auto pay somewhere else? I ask because I'd like to use the same credit card I use to pay the cable/internet bill in person if I absolutely HAVE to do auto-pay for the mobile phone.

Look at the billing tab, it show what auto-pay is already set up (usually) the same credit card that you initially paid with.

I hope they didn't use the same debit card we used for the initial payment to get the phone shipped to us as I'd rather pay it via my credit card and then pay that off when the bill comes due rather than have them having access to our checking account via the debit.
I guess they did as I just checked billing. Guess I have to change that to my credit card that I've been using to pay the monthly cable/internet charges.
