Extremely slow LTE

I’m a new customer. First day and my LTE download speeds are less than 2 Mbps all day. Is this typical? I’ve tested from different locations. Previously on AT&T and had much higher speed.

We are having the same issue except we are not seeing LTE speeds over 1 mbps. We were on the phone with Xfinity for over an hour with no resolution. They have a ticket out to Verizon but no guarantee that will fix anything. Sounds like we are just been throttled to the point where LTE is worthless. Fun times.

It could be congestion. Carriers these days have towers that are very congested and you happen to be on a tower that has a lot of data traffic going through

They gave me free HD pass, which supposedly prioritizes during congestion, for a month. This seemed to help but still way slower than AT&T. Bottom line, I thought I would get Verizon speed since Xfinity uses their cellular network but did not know about de-prioritization or that periods of network congestion would be all the time.

Congestion shouldn’t happen every time I use the cellular network though.

When I spoke with xfinity they claimed there isn't priority service used.  We should get the same service as if your with Verizon.  And let me tell you, there is no comparison between the two.  Xfinity is unsatisfactory.  Really frustrated, May need to change back to Verizon.

That would be incorrect. All second generation plans without HD Pass ($20/line per month) are subject to prioritization of traffic. Those on the first generation plans (prior to August 2019) are in for a rude awakening in February 2020 as they  will be moved to the second generation plan. I will most likely be switching to a Red Pocket annual plan from ebay as it will suit my needs and at a better price.
