I had an iphone 6 with Xfinity. I just bought a Samsung Galaxy A50 from Amazon. I switched the sim and the new phone works great. The IMEI number shows "compatible" but how do I update it on my account?
You don't. If you just swap sim cards, the phone will work great and it will say xfinity mobile in the notification bar. However, your account page will still indicate your old phone.
If it is important for you to see the iphone 6 pop up on your account page, you must visit the XM store and see if they will provision a new SIM for you. Most folks do not care what the account page says.
I have recieved numerous conflicting information concerning as to whether XM will even do this for you. Some say yes, others say no, unless you get the device through them.
