buffering and dropped connection

Just in the last few weeks, the Xfinity Stream app has been buffering frequently and crashing on my Roku TV, Windows 10 Laptop and Android phone.  I have had my wifi connection checked by Xfinity support.  No problem there.  The problem must lie in the app.  Is anyone else having this issue?  Does Xfinity know about it?  Are they goinng to fix it?  Nothing worse than watching the game and have the TV wig out and cause you to miss a big play.

the only thing in common between the web page access (not an app) and the stream app is your wifi. either too busy or too much noise to signal so that the wifi won't supply enough data to keep the connection.

It doesn't matter if I use the app on my Roku, the website on my Laptop or the app on my phone.  They have been buffering and losing connection.  If I go to a different app on my Roku like ABC, Netflix or Hulu, I don't have a problem on any of the devices...only on Xfinity Stream Beta.  It has only started in the last few weeks. Did they make changes to the app, narrow the bandwidth, or are there just so many more people using it that it's causing too much traffic?

This dropping connection is happening to me too. Have had Xfinity for a month and in the last few days, can’t get through 1 live tv show without multiple episodes of buffering. Highly frustrated!!

I was getting similar results using the Xfinity TV Beta app on Roku. The picture started and stopped like stuttering and the lip sync was off.  The solution was to go to settings and set the Roku 1080P instead of 4000K at 30 FPS or Auto.  I have plenty of bandwidth, but the Xfinity App is not playing nice through Roku with video at 4K.

Hi everyone. Thank you for posting and letting us know what you're experiencing. We want to help! Does this seem to be happening on all content (live TV, on demand, DVR recordings, etc) and all networks?

The problem was only with Xfinity App content. All other services stream normally. Up to 4K. (Netflix, Disney Plus, Prime, Sling and evening mirroring from an iPhone). The problem was present wit wi-fi or Ethernet connection and resolved by changing Roku resolution to 1080. It’s not that hard to switch to lower resolution when I want Xfinity content but it would be better if the problem or bug wasn’t there. No need to reply to me, just fix the app.

We appreciate the update, tomhadden!

I'm glad you were able to find a resolution for this and shared it here. I'll be sure to forward your experience and feedback about potential changes to the app to be taken into consideration for future updates.
