I am sorry but you cannot watch live TV on your Xfinity TV App or laptop but you can watch On Demand content on them.

Download the Xfinity TV App (iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch) and click the Play Now tab to see all the content that is available to watch on your phone.

On your laptop, go to Xfinitytv.com and log in with your Comcast ID or comcast.net e-mail address to get started.

Thanks,
Joe

I used to be able to watch live sporting events like CUBS games when I was away a couple of years ago on my laptop with my comcast account.  Did this go away?  I really will hate that because I spend a lot of time in Missouri in the summers and they do not broadcast Cubs games - just Cardinals.  Any way I can get this?

What you are referring to is package that you have to purchase through MLB which has no affilaion with Comcast.

If you are referring to live Cubs games on your TV, you should look into our MLB Extra Innings package:

What if it's a Cubs game on WGN and I have the new "play" box that enables me to watch what's on cable live? Will that be blacked out on my iPad?

Are you talking about watching it in your house on another device like an iPad?  If it's something that you can watch on your TV in your house then it should be something you can watch on your iPad at that time in your house as well (or instead), assuming you have the AnyPlay service, device, apps, etc.

I just saw a DirecTv commercial where the man can watch LIVE tv on his device anywhere in the house.  Is this possible with Xfinity??  I have many times where the kids and/or grandkids are too loud so I want to go to another room and watch tv.  I have a Kindle Fire HD that I watch OnDemand with sometimes.  Is it ever possible or going to be possible to watch live tv on a device??  by the way....  I do have Xfinity Triple-Play

Comcast offers AnyPlay service, which is pretty much what you are describing: www.xfinity.com/anyplay

I too wish they would allow this.  I have a job where I am on the road for about 2 weeks or so and miss being able to watch my shows or the Chiefs games.

Yes, Xfinity has anyplay; for an additional monthly fee. I don't know about anyone else, but i'm getting tired of being nickeled and dimed to death

If you have the X1 system, and CLOUD has been anbled for your market ( warning here, cloud is not available in many markets yet )...   you can goto www.xtv.comcast.net and after signing in and adding the device you can view ONLY the recordings that are on the cloud...  recordings residing on the dvr prior to cloud will not be available.
