Xfinity Streaming Beta App Bugs

My Xfinity app will no longer play local broadcast network TV on CBS and NBC. It will allow me to record those channels, but not to watch live.   The recorded shows on those channels are not in high def and in a smaller format that does not fit the screen.  All other channels seem to be working fine.

 

Xfinity Chat and other technical help could not assist with problem.  Any advice on restoring those channels?   May have to just cancel the TV portion of our service.

on what device are you using the beta app? did you try using a desk/laptop or a smart phone/tablet to see if it has the same problem? when you tune to CBS and NBC what error numbers/messages do you see on the screen?

TV is an LG smart tv. Streaming app worked fine for many months on those channels until recently. I can stream those channels to my smartphone on both wifi and cell data service. Error message when trying to stream those 2 channels in the live tv selection says "Video cannot be played at this time". Checked all apps and system is up to date. Unplugged tv then reconnected also and issue remains. Thank you!

first try to power unplug your gateway (modem). if still not working, there may be an issue in a database. call 800-Comcast, select tech support for cable TV. ask the agent to transfer you to the app support team. ask the team member to reprovision your streaming device entitlements. if someone talks about sending a hit to your home equipment they do not understand. this is for app/streaming website. if the team member seems confused ask for a supervisor.

Thank you for the advice.  Modem reboot does not solve the issue and I should have mentioned that in previous post.  I will try calling as you suggested but I don't hold much hope they'll be helpful and based on previous experience, I'll waste at least an hour of my time.  However, I do appreciate the time you take to address questions!
