Roku Ultra Xfinity Stream App Crashing

Just today, we are having the Xfinity Stream app crash on our Roku Ultra.

I have updated the Roku, restart it, updated the Xfinity app, removed, re-added it, activated it again, and it is still happening.

When we go to "saved" and then try to open "for you", "recordings", or any other sub menu, the app closes and goes to our Roku home screen. So we cannot access any of that content.

We can watch live channels, just nothing under "saved".

HELP! We want to watch the World Series as a recording!

I'm having the same issue as well on both of my Roku devices. It worked earlier today on one of my devices but has stopped working. I've been having this issue since yestarday.

@Jccinco Hey, I just figured out a way to watch recorded shows until they fix the issue. If you start watching the program on the app on your phone, it will appear in the Last Watched portion on the Roku app and will play when you seleect it 🙂

to make the app function normally, remove the channel from the roku device. remove power and HDMI cables from the roku device for 3+ minutes then power the roku back up and reinstall the xfinity stream TV channel and authenticate. working now?

I would like to understand if Comcast is currently aware that the Roku Stream app crashes regularly and needs to be fixed by removing the channel and re-adding it. For me, this happens at least every 2 weeks. It's a more significant issue because I have 8 Rokus in my house. When I remove the app from one, it removes it from all of them. So, it's a significant process to go in and reactive all of them just to have at least one of them crash again within a week or two. xfinity.com/authorize has become one of my most visited websites.

do you have at least one working X1 set top box in the home? If not, you are currently limited to a maximum of two streaming devices at any one time. if you do have at least one working x1 set top box then you are currently limited to 5 streaming devices (note that an X1 set top box can often be streaming too causing one of the streaming devices being in use. I have 4 Roku and have occasionally caused one of them to be removed from authorized devices when streaming on phone or tablet. It is unknown in this forum why that happens it may just be trying to use more than five streams at the same times causes the disconnection of one of the devices.

That's an interesting thought. I certainly have all the Rokus registered, but I never have more than one device in the house streaming XFinity at any given time as my wife and I tend to watch the same thing together while my kids couldn't care less about cable TV. 🙂 My error is always that the app won't open and crashes back to the Roku home screen. I do not have any X1 boxes in my house, so I guess I might be limited to 2 simultaneous streams, but I definitely am not streaming on more than 1 at a time. I also use an Eero setup and run the XFi gateway in bridge mode because it has no chance of covering my house with decent Wi-Fi. I haven't heard of this being an issue, though for Roku streaming.

when you go into network settings on your Roku, is the SSID for your own home wifi (your router's) SSID selected? you might try forgetting that setting and then reselecting it. You might want to power unplug your router for 30 seconds or so before doing the network setting.
