If the streaming box apps only intention to be used On-Network (at home) as a cable box replacement, what HUGE waste of effort of their part... They could have a very useful product to be used OFF network attached streaming box capability...
Good use cases:People on vacation who take their streaming box with them...
People who temporarily need to live somewhere else who would like to view their recorded shows... etc...
I moved your off-topic reply to a separate thread. the use of chromecast has nothing to do with using a Roku app. Apple TV is not announced so no plans for it at this time. the Stream TV (beta) app is only for on network use due to contract limitations with the providers of programming.
