Thanks for posting to the Xfinity Forum. I apologize for the experience you're having. I'd like to investigate a little further. Outside of the networks that you have mentioned in this thread, are you able to stream ANY live network while you're away from home?
Actually, I was away from home and decided to see if the Xfinity Rep, who I chatted with the other day, knew what he was talking about. I logged in through my iPhone app, selected MSNBC, and the Network News came on. I was surprised since the Rep I chatted with told me I could not stream live away from home.
MSNBC has an xfinity stream TVgo channel that is specifically there to use when away from home.
Hello, mark1154! There are actually quite a few channels you can live-stream outside of your home network.
After opening the app select "Live TV" from the menu. At the top, you should see a button labeled "Filter". When you select the filter, you will be able to choose a few options, but the one you are looking for is "Available Out of Home", you will see a tiny "TV GO" icon next to it. After selecting that option and pressing "OK" you will only be given the channels available outside your home. Be sure to keep an eye out for the "TV GO" icon, that is the fastest way to be sure it is available away from home.
Please give this little trick a try and let me know if it accomplishes what you were looking for. Xfinity Stream is a fantastic app and I want you to be able to enjoy it too. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions about other features as well and I would be more than happy to answer. 🙂
