Can't set recordings from stream app

So this has happened to me before on occasion but not lately, but today I tried to set recordings for several different things using the xfinity stream app and for some reason today the option just isn't there. Over the weekend I also just happened to read that Comcast just lost a decision by the ITC in favor of Rovi in a patent suit saying that Comcast is infringing on Rovi's patent for the technology in the app that is used to set recordings on mobile devices for X1 set top boxes. So I'm just wondering is it just a coincidence that it's not even an option for me today and perhaps due to maintenance of some kind on the app, or did Comcast temporarily pull this technology from the app as a result of the ruling by the ITC? Thanks very much to anyone who can shed some light on this.

Why did you remove the ability to schedule, modify recordings or cancel recordings from the Xfinity app?  Being able to do that when away from home was one of your biggest differientiators in service.

Xfinity claims to have sent an email, but I have all my Xfinity emails and have found nothing on this subject.

 

They need to either compensate their customers for this downgrade in functionality, a feature that they've promoted repeatedly.

Good luck with that. There was no email. There was no public notification. There is absolutely no notification of this issue on any Xfinity top page site. The services page shows everything is up and running properly. There might be something buried 10 levels down, but who would ever find it. Like some commercial says, This is HUGE! But the only place there is any mention of it is on this blog. Which about .0001% of subscribers eve look at. Like I said before, they like to blow smoke up a hidden oriface and hope no one notices.

Is the new voice remote that I received supposed to placate me for loss of the only online feature that I used?  I did not order it and I don't care about a voice activated remote.  Unless it will work away from home.

If recording  program from the app is not available then maybe Xfinity should reduce the rediculous raise in charges that have been introduced.

I just realized that I can no longer record programs from my phone (I don't do it frequently, but happy that I had the means to do ti). Thought it was something that I had done. But now, after reading comments from other Verizon users, this ability has been removed. Why? Since there appears to be others beside myself that are "not happy campers" about this, is there a possibility that this function may be reinstalled?

yes, quite some time ago. at the bottom or top of this page select page one of this thread and the first post on the first page has an accepted answer from Comcast.

I have just been informed in a chat with Comcast that the ability to record remotely has been removed from the app and I  am very upset. This is one of the reasons we got the x1 system. I don't know how to tell Comcast this is a bad decision.
