Airplay through Safari is giving this error message Error TVAPP-00236

We are using an Apple TV 4th Gen to airplay Xfinity from our Mac Book Pro 2017 on Catalina using Safari. We are continuing to get this error message Error TVAPP-00236. A few weeks ago we had no problem airplaying our content and now we cannot watch anything. I don't quite understand why we are getting a message error for an unsupported display and that we need an Apple display adapter. How does an Apple TV not count as a display adapter?  Do we have to plug in our computer everytime that we want to watch something from xfinity? Also, what has changed recently to cause this?

hwen airplay is 'on, the stream won't work. you can use a chromecast dongle on the same wireless network.
