Hi,
My dad is 89. He has a Comcast account, but doesn't have a mobile phone, or any other email address. He used to be able to check his email on Comcast's website. Now, Comcast won't let him in unless he gives either a second email address or a mobile phone number. He has neither.
What can he do?

Well, it's easy enough to set up a Google mail account at https://www.google.com/gmail/about/. It doesn't need to be used but could help satisfy the Comcast requirement. Maybe you could set it up for him and share the credentials if access is needed.
Thanks for the reply. I know I could set up another email account anywhere, yahoo, excite, mystart, etc., but I'd rather not have to do a workaround.
I think it's nuts that he used to be able to log in, but no longer can.
Or, I just set up a local email client on his desktop, such as Thunderbird.
(Google is not my cup of tea.)
Hi @a2903, he's probably going through the security check that we put up to ensure contact points are added and up to date, but he can click "looks good" or "ask me later" to bypass it. The reason the contact point is critical is because we want to get away from secret question and answer for password recovery, which is not secure.
Thanks for sharing, let me look into that one. Can you private message me his comcast.net email?
