ANSWERED: How to Link, Unlink, and Switch Between Multiple Xfinity Accounts

Need to link, unlink or switch between your accounts? You can use your Xfinity ID to manage multiple accounts through xfinity.com online.

Linking enables you to use one Xfinity ID to manage multiple Xfinity accounts/addresses.

Link accounts

Link your Xfinity ID to an account

You can link your Xfinity ID to an account by accepting an invitation from the account’s Primary user to join it. If you’re the Primary user, see how to manage user roles and permissions on Xfinity accounts for details.

You’ll receive the invitation by email, text message, or both.

  • If the personal (non-Xfinity) email address or mobile number is the same one used on your Xfinity ID, you’ll be prompted with the option to link your accounts, or continue with creating a new profile.
  • If the personal (non-Xfinity) email address or mobile number is different from the one used on your Xfinity ID, you can still sign in with your password to link accounts.

Note: If you don't want to link your accounts, choose Create a New Profile instead to create a separate Xfinity ID for your new account.

  1. Click the Get Started button in the email or text message invitation you received.

Screenshot of the account page. The account logo is in the upper left corner. The Get started button is purple and towards the bottom of the screen.

  2. You may be asked to confirm some details about the account you’re linking to, like the street address, mobile phone number, or email address on the account. Once finished, click Continue.
    • As you type in your street address, the field will automatically populate.
    • Find your address from the list of options provided.

  3. Click the Use Existing Profile button and sign in with your existing Xfinity ID to link your accounts.

  4. You’ll then be taken to a confirmation screen that'll ask you to choose which account you’d like to access.
  5. Click the circle next to your desired service address, then click Continue to be signed into that account.
    • If you’d like to set a preferred account to view every time, check the box next to Remember this selection next time I sign in before clicking Continue.

Unlink accounts

You can view the accounts your Xfinity ID is linked to after you sign in to xfinity.com. If you don’t need instructions, click here and sign in with your Xfinity ID and password.

  1. Click the Account icon  and then select Account and Identity.
    1. If the account you want to unlink has automatic payments turned on or a pending scheduled payment, you need to turn off automatic payments and remove all scheduled payments before unlinking the account.

  4. To unlink from an account, click Unlink next to the desired account.

    • Note: If the account you want to unlink is currently the Default account, click the Make This Default link for one of your other accounts and then proceed.
  5. You’ll be asked to confirm you’d like to unlink the account. Select Unlink Account to finish.

Screenshot of pop-up that appears, asking Are you sure? The Unlink Account button is beneath this. It is blue and on the right. If you want to Learn more, click the white button on the left.

Notes:

  • You can’t unlink from the account you’re currently viewing.
  • After unlinking, you'll no longer have access to Xfinity services or xfinity.com for that account.
    • To regain access, the Primary user for the account will need to add you as a user.
  • If there are no users left on the unlinked account, go to xfinity.com/getstarted to re-add the unlinked account.
  • A Primary user can unlink any Secondary users from their account by selecting the option to Remove from Account located in the Account and Identity section on xfinity.com.

See how to remove an Xfinity ID for more information.

Switch between linked accounts

  2. Click the Account icon  and then select Billing or Account and Identity.
  3. Click the Account icon again and select Switch account.

In the Xfinity app

  1. Upon logging into the Xfinity app, if you have two or more active accounts linked to your Xfinity ID, you’ll be prompted to choose between accounts when signing in. Select the account you’d like to access and press Continue to switch to that account.

  2. If you want to switch to another account later (or are already logged into the Xfinity app), select the Account tab on the bottom navigation bar and scroll to the bottom to select the Switch Accounts button.

  3. From there, you’ll be prompted to choose the account you want to access. Select Continue to switch to that account.

In Xfinity Stream

Your primary account is displayed by default. To change the account selected in these apps, one option is to change your primary account. This can be done online under the Your accounts section located at customer.xfinity.com/#/settings/account/linked-accounts.

From here you can view all your accounts and choose a primary account you want to set as the default across your Xfinity apps (Xfinity, Xfinity Stream, Xfinity Home, etc.) by selecting the Make This Default option.

Screenshot of Your accounts page. Each account appears in a list on the Your accounts page. To the right of each one, you can select Make This Default.

For the Xfinity Stream portal, you’ll also be prompted to select your account when signing in. Select the account you’d like to access and click Continue to view that account. If you’d like to switch accounts later, you can sign out and then sign back in to pick another account.
