we just purchased a HP printer, scan, copy, fax machine.
How do I hook that up to the modem? we do not have the telephone hook-up in the wall.
thanks for a speedy reply 🙂

I have a Netgear C6300
I plugged a phone directly into that port and do not have a dial tone - it ays "check tel line" on the phone itself.

Comcast's http://mydeviceinfo.xfinity.com/ lists the approved retail devices for your speed tier and services. Be sure to select the "Voice/Telephone enabled" checkbox.

All Comcast gateway devices have phone jacks, including the XB6. See https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/broadband-gateways-userguides.
my phone line works, but not the fax... do I need both hooked up to work and does it matter which line I put the fax into?? it is actually a printer, scanner, copier, fax machine.
thanks again

"Doesn't work" is kinda vague. What is the problem exactly? No dial tone? Can't break dial tone? Can dial, but call doesn't go though? Fax doesn't answer?
Please describe the problem in as much detail as possible, and include the model number of the printer/scanner/copier/fax machine.

Whichever device you have hooked up should work, and normally if you only have 1 line of phone service, it will come through the jack labeled "Tel#1" or similar.
